Spend your Easter Golfing

If you are looking for a great way to spend you Easter break with the kids, why not consider a golfing holiday? Whether you are a keen golfer or not there are a whole load of places you can visit where you can enjoy an early summer break that is both relaxing and fun.

The Algarve, Portugal – Perhaps the most obvious of places as it is really well known for its great golfing venues, but it is also a fairly warm place to visit in March and April. You can get a self-catering studio, go full or half board, or even rent an entire villa for your family to enjoy. There is something to suit all budgets. And if you don’t want to spend every day on the golf course, The Algarve has some great sights to see, beautiful beaches and some pretty decent shopping areas too.

St Andrews, Scotland – it might not have the greatest weather when compared with some other top golfing venues around the world, but St Andrews is a stunning place to visit. It is very popular and you might find during the Easter break it gets busy, but even if you can’t get on the famous St Andrews course you can also try the lesser known but equally as stunning Crail and Lundin.

Northern France – If you don’t want to fly but you still want to get away from it all for Easter, then you might want to consider the northern region of France. You can get there on the Eurotunnel so you can pack everything you want to take with you into your car, not so easy to do when flying. The courses of St Ormer and Hardelot are really lovely. The Northern region of France has something for everyone, great bars and restaurants with lively nightlife, but also quieter fishing villages for those who prefer something a little more relaxing.

Costa Del Sol, Spain – like Portugal, the Costa del Sol has great weather for most of the year round, making it the ideal place for anyone wanting a little sunshine on their Easter Break. Golfing hotspots in the region include Santa Clara, Calanova and Marbella Golf and Country Club and of course La Finca Cortesin which hosted the Volvo World Matchplay Championships. It is a great place for nightlife, and there is plenty to do if you are travelling as a family.

Of course if you want to play farther afield, get away from Europe and really play somewhere different you can try Scottsdale in Arizona, USA. The Sonoran desert location is beautiful and the courses here are a joy to play. As a fairly new golfing resort location when compared to some others on our list, the facilities are modern and the level of service is extremely high. You can also see different things during your non golf playing time, right in the heart of the Wild West there are ghost towns to explore, trendy boutique stores to shop in, and you could also rub shoulders with the rich and famous in the local clubs and bars.
